Safeguarding Utility Pipelines with Green Technology

Combating eco-terrorism

Green Protection for Utility Pipelines (Oil & Gas)

Eco-terrorists sabotage oil and gas pipelines, putting human lives and community safety at risk. Pipelines are the safest way to transport oil and gas. Physical attacks on oil and natural gas pipelines is an enduring problem. These kind of attacks endanger the public, many times hurt the perpetrators, and may potentially damage the environment if there is a release.

SSD ESU Pipeline Protection agents deploy our unique ballistic pipeline protection system is green, environmentally friendly and virtually impenetrable.

attack resistent

Bullet resistant (AK-47 7.62 rounds). Withstands concrete drill, diamond drill, axe and hammer attacks, as well as 12 days of sulfuric acid application. Withstood blast testing by U.S. Army Special Forces Rangers with zero penetration (see test results below).

made green in the usa

100% forged with green construction technology. We precast 3″ (Gold Protection) or 4″ (Platinum Protection) utilizing NIJ approved BallistiCrete to make high strength 19,000+ psi (131+ Mpa) environmentally friendly precast shapes.

rapid deployment

Our solution can be rapidly installed worldwide around any size pipeline, for any length in order to stop rifle bullets from penetrating a pipeline as well as withstanding blasts from explosive charges designed to disrupt oil pipeline operations.

high safety

Non-combustible, no smoke, no flames, no off gassing, non-toxic, resistant to oils, petroleum, salt, water, sulfates and acids, non sparking, no freeze thaw issues when used in extreme climates, corrosion resistant, and totally environmentally safe

BALLISTIC TESTING

BallistiPipe sample material testing at GigaCrete’s testing facility in Las Vegas Nevada, USA.

Below are ballistic means of breaching a pipeline. All were stopped by BallistiPipe during the test. BallistiPipe addresses pipeline security with a ballistic and blast rated enclosure.

Description of materials and testing

Test Sample

BallistiCrete sample cast into a 4” thick 10cm x 46cm x 46cm (Replicating the thickness recommended for pipeline protection)

Tests to be performed

  1. Multiple shots from typical weapons found locally AK- 47, 7.62×39
  2. Higher caliber assault rifle .308 caliber 7.62×51 (NATO round)
  3. Concrete drill
  4. Diamond drill for cutting granite countertops
  5. Multiple hits with an axe
  6. Multiple hits with a heavy hammer
  7. Sulphuric acid (battery acid)

Conclusion: There would have to be multiple hole saws needed to cut through 100mm in at least 120 minutes, before reaching 75mm of eps foam and the pipeline.

Tools of the Test

7.62 x 39 Tactical AK-47
